Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy says a Star Wars film will "absolutely" have a female director in the future.
When asked at the BAFTAs if a female director could be in the cards soon, Kennedy answered, "Oh absolutely, without question."
Exciting!
We may have to wait just a bit though, as Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor Ragnarok) is in talks to take over as director for the new installment.
