2 games, 2 wins. Josh and I checked out the Phillies/Dodgers series and watched our hometown boys walk away with two W's. We're now thinking our tours should coincide with Phillies road trips.
It's fitting that our free Close to Home concert series at Universal Citywalk is coming to a close with a performance from none other than our resident this month, Eastern Conference Champions. The show is FREE and begins at 8PM.
The LA Music Blog recently sat down with the band:

"Since their debut album, Ameritown, was released in 2007, Pennsylvania’s Eastern Conference Champions have been keeping busy, releasing two EPs (Santa Fe and Akustiks) before dropping their follow-up full-length on the world in April of this year. That effort, Speak-Ahh, may have taken the trio of Josh Ostrander, Greg Lyons, and Melissa Dougherty four years to complete, but fans agree it was worth the wait. If you’ve yet to check out the acclaimed rockers’ music, you can do so this Friday when they play a free show at Citywalk’s Five Towers stage as part of 98.7 FM’s "Close to Home" series.
LA Music Blog recently had a chance to talk to Eastern Conference Champions about the new album, their restriction-free writing process, and the Rolling Stone they’d love to have in the studio.
For our readers who might have not heard of Eastern Conference Champions yet, can you give us a quick background on the band?

987 is proud to announce another addition to the 2011 Artist in Residence Program. We're spoiled living in LA these days. The scene is really thriving... Even better is the community that is built around it. Great tastemakers at local venues have been supporting the scene with free shows, repetition, and really putting their name behind a band to support a month long residency.
At 987, we wanted to build on the residency concept and support a new band each month. However, instead of playing a show every week, we're going to give you the opportunity to hear songs and interviews and watch exclusive videos. We're also going to tie the band into all of the music features on 987FM, whether it be co-hosting our New Music Show, guest DJing our commercial free stream, online chats, or exposing them to other Rockaholics via social media.
Our eighth 2011 resident artist is LA's Eastern Conference Champions! Check in here throughout the month for exclusive content with the band. For now, here is the official video for "A Million Miles An Hour."
