Ed Reed called the NFL a powder puff league.I kinda agree. We've all seen flags thrown for weak hits.
Look, I'm for protecting dudes getting smashed in the head but that hitting a defenseless player rule is BS. It's like that scene is Unforgiven. "You just killed an unarmed man!" "Well, he should've armed himself." That's just the price you have to pay for going over the middle sometimes. Because if you're Ed Reed your job is to hit a guy so hard either he drops the ball or it hurts so bad he doesn't want to catch another one.
That's called football and that's why I like it
